A lot of our customers are hands-on people. They change their own oil, fix their own faucets, and want to understand what's going in their house. Good news: owning a RainSoft system fits that just fine. The installation is professional, but the everyday care is something most homeowners handle themselves.
What You Can Do Yourself
- •Add salt — open the brine tank lid and pour in water softener salt from any store that sells it
- •Check the system — glance at the display, or keep an eye on the Wi-Fi connected EC5 from your phone
- •Routine filter changes on drinking-water systems
- •Use the bypass valve to take the system offline if you're doing your own plumbing work
💡 Tip: Prefer not to do any of it? That's fine too. We install and service everything we sell ourselves, locally, out of our Enterprise office.
What Our Technicians Handle
- •A full in-home water test so the system is sized to what's actually in your water
- •Plumbing the system into your main line
- •Installing a bypass valve so you can isolate the system yourself
- •Running the drain line with a proper air gap
- •Programming the system for your water and household size
- •Warranty service for the life of your Limited Lifetime Warranty
Why the Install Is Worth Leaving to a Pro
Most of the problems people run into with water treatment come from the install, not the equipment: a system sized for the wrong hardness, a drain line without an air gap, no bypass, or a unit that was never programmed for the actual water. A professional install avoids those mistakes — which matters a lot more over 10 or 20 years than the time saved on day one.
The Best of Both
You get the confidence of a certified system installed right, plus the freedom to handle the simple stuff yourself — no monthly service fees, no salt delivery contract, and a local team a phone call away if you need us.
